With empty nesters in mind, Temple Shalom of Aberdeen established its Renaissance Group more than 30 years ago. For individuals and couples aged 50 and beyond, the Group provides a forum for friendship, adventure and discovery. A full calendar of activities is already planned for 2023-2024, including events such as movie and game nights, and trips to local universities and NYC. Last year, the group visited the Monmouth Jewish Museum, explored a Hindu temple, participated in events sponsored by Rutgers University, went to the theatre, and spent the day touring NYC’s historic lower east side.
Temple Shalom’s Renaissance Group affords members an opportunity to strengthen existing friendships and forge new relationships. It provides an ideal forum for people that are seeking enrichment and camaraderie after their children have moved on with their lives, to join this warm and welcoming Temple.
