JLIFE BUZZ-Red Bank Chapter of Hadassah Mourns the Loss of Lois Green

Lois Green

The Red Bank Chapter of Hadassah is saddened by the loss of our dear member, Lois Green, who passed away on May 31, 2023. Lois inspired our members with her kindness and her generosity.  She and her husband Len made several major donations during her lifetime.  They donated funds for an entire Orthopedic Surgical Suite for Hadassah Medical Organization in Ein Kerem, Jerusalem. They also generously donated to Hadassah’s Meir Shfeya, a Youth Aliyah village which supports at-risk youth in Israel.
Lois and Len shared their generosity with other local organizations including Congregation B’nai Israel in Rumson and Chhange in Lincroft. Lois inspired many others to donate to the extent that they were able, stressing the need to “reach” and donate more. Beyond her generosity, Lois constantly looked to see how she could make life easier or better for others.
Lois was born in Monmouth County and was a member of Young Judaea, Hadassah’s youth group. She met Len, the love of her life, when she was only a sophomore in college, and they were married at the end of her junior year.  Besides graduating from Rutgers, she impressed everyone with her capabilities, intelligence and common sense.
Lois had an abiding love for the Jewish people. She was a committed Jew and Zionist. She was a founding member of Temple Beth Ahm in Matawan and was twice President of Congregation B’nai Israel in Rumson.
She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves her husband Len, 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Lois will be missed greatly.
