A gorgeous, sunny day and Metuchen’s lively Main Street provided the perfect backdrop for Neve Shalom’s “Meet-Greet-Shmooze with a Little Ice Cream on Us” event on Sunday, August 13. Participants made their way by car, bike or stroller to What’s The Scoop for the outdoor gathering, but many more came on foot to enjoy the camaraderie—and a welcome ice cream break—as part of their longer stroll along the town’s popular Main Street. It was a change of scenery for regulars who attend services and share weekly Shabbat lunch at Neve Shalom’s 250 Grove Avenue location as well as a chance to see new faces in a great lead-up to the High Holidays. Attendees also had the opportunity to review the congregation’s upcoming activities, which include, in addition to religious services: special Selichot programming, September 10 community blood drive, a Men’s Club-sponsored barbecue and Sukkot/Simchat Torah fun.
