Welcome to the Inaugural Issue of Jlife Heart of New Jersey

Dear Readers,
Welcome to the premier issue of Jlife Heart of New Jersey. We are very excited to present this new, monthly publication to you and hope that it provides you with compelling content and thought-provoking topics.
Our goal with Jlife is to drive excitement every month when you receive your next issue. We want to create a community of readers that are passionate about Jewish culture, who care about our local Jewish community and who simply share an interest in stories, both local and global. As we continue to evolve the magazine, we ask that you provide us with valuable feedback so that we are able to meet and exceed your expectations.
Our debut includes coverage of the Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County which is opening an exhibition on the 100th anniversary of Congregation B’nai Israel in Rumson. We also explore unique Menorahs of Monmouth and Middlesex. Want to read about the practice of giving in Hanukkah? We asked local rabbis about their approach to giving. This is just a taste of what we have in store. There is so much more to read, which makes this first issue a powerful introduction to our local Jewish landscape. So, be sure to follow us on Instagram, like us on Facebook, and visit our website at
www.jlifenj.com for great reading and of course, to sign up to our E- News.
I would like to personally thank the Jewish Federation for making this all come to fruition and to our staff for their contributions and hard work to launch this magazine. As you begin reviewing your inaugural issue of Jlife and hopefully enjoy the editorial pieces that were created specifically for you, allow me to end with a personal note:
I have been publishing magazines for more than 15 years. It is no secret that the publishing industry is going through seismic changes and challenges. Such times also offer opportunities. Indeed, we have a unique opportunity here in New Jersey to bring to life many narratives from different corners of our communities. Be engaged and you will be richly rewarded.
I always found that through reading I got to travel, free of charge, to interesting, previously unknown worlds. Exploring those worlds is on you–the reader. Ours, as publishers, editors and writers, is to put those impactful stories in front of you.
    Happy reading and happy Hanukkah
