Jackie Kusher, who served as cantor at Congregation Etz Chaim-Monroe Township Jewish Center for 39 years, will return on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 2:30 p.m. for a reading and discussion of his first novel, Bloodstains in the Snow, about his parents’ survival during the Holocaust.

Kusher is an actor, singer and songwriter who has appeared in off-Broadway shows, television series and several movies. His debut book recounts the story of his parents, Fishel Kuscher and Jelenka Tambor. His father watched as hate engulfed his native Warsaw while his mother witnessed the same in her small Czech village. The book shines a light on their survival despite a treacherous landscape of escalating violence and persecution as the world around them crumbled and they persevered through hardship to raise a family in America.

The program is free. For information contact Stefani K. at (732) 251-1119 or office@etazchaimmtjc.org.
