Supporting our local community is a tenet of Temple Shalom of Aberdee’s mission. Between the temple’s annual High Holiday food drive, school supply program, diaper and baby necessities drive, sock and underwear collections, and its many Mitzvah Day programs, it initiates programs all year round.
In the summer, it focuses on the needs of the food banks, which help nourish families and children that typically benefit from school lunch programs. This year, it raised more than $900 in non-perishable food for the Keyport Ministerium food bank. The temple’s work will continue with programs to help those in need—it is always open for new opportunities to help its neighbors.
